The "Lamplight" Model

This is one of the most disturbing transformations of all. Here the individual
has in essence given up his or her life 
to become an object, in this case
a table lamp or coffee-table curio. The
owner of the "piece" tends to a nutrient
mixture which enters through a tube (while waste flows out of a second tube). 
The "piece" is immobile, cannot speak
or heard, though it can see.

Individuals of extremely low self-esteem
tend to choose this transformation.
