horrible, nearly unbelievable trans-human trend:
Individuals painfully sacrificing their bodies to
style and "hipness." They apparently never
consider that someday, after the fashion subsides,
they might want to return to their normal bodies.
(Such a reversion would be impossible without
severe injury or most likely death.) Their
ever-growing government (which calls the
trend "self-fulfillment" and can partially
subsidize the operations in case of "real need")
is delighted and generally helps the craze thrive,
so long as the people remain sufficiently
self-absorbed and full of demonstrable gratitude.
